Meditation #15: Make a to-do list.

Make a list at the beginning of the day of the things you want to get done for the day, but don’t spend too much time on it. Only write down the things that come to mind immediately. If you find yourself having to stop and think about what else you want to get done, you’re going to set yourself up for failure. Just stop when you can’t think of anything else.

Then make one of those items–at least one, but no more than two–your “mission critical” objectives for the day. These are the items that must get done, above all others. When you check them off, you’ll feel a boost of confidence and accomplishment, which will be a nice feeling, and may even encourage you to get the rest of the items on your list done.
