Meditation #59: Every moment is right now.

We’re always in the present moment. It’s obvious, sure, but it’s kind of profound when you think about it. You have always lived right now. Even all those memories you have of the past, happened right now. Everything you’ve ever done, every breath you’ve ever taken was happening now.

The present moment is never-ending. It’s nonstop. It’s going and going and going and going, and has been going and going and going since you were born…and even before that. Abraham Lincoln was born, lived, and died right now.

Socrates spoke in Athens right now.

The dinosaurs roamed the earth right now.

Those things don’t exist anymore, of course. The past is gone, burned up in the great incinerator of time, never to be recovered.

But when they did happen…it was right now. Always.

Like a single tone that resonates continuously through the ages…
